October 27th\, 2024 The Royal Oak Concert Band (ROCB) presents "Color Your World" the first concert of its 2024-2025 season\, at 3 p.m. on Sunday\,October 27th at the Royal Oak Middle School Auditorium\, 709 N. Washington Ave.\, Royal Oak\, MI 48067. The admission is $12 for adults\, $10 for seniors\, and children 12 and under are free. Tickets are available at the door or online at www.royaloakconcertband.org.\n\n\n\nDirected by Mr. Kevin R. Czarnik\, the ROCB is celebrating the start of its 61st season with a colorful kaleidoscope of music featuring the many hues of the concert band. The ROCB will explore colors through a wide variety of musical styles and composers\, from Gustav Holst to Henry Mancini\, Frank Ticheli\, Prince and the rock group Chicago. The concert will also feature our principal trombonist\, Gavin Moore\, performing a trombone solo with the concert band. Additionally\, the concert will include a jazzy set by the Woodward Avenue Jazz Orchestra\, directed by Mr. James Cann. The 18 piece Woodward Avenue Jazz Orchestra performs a broad repertoire from swing through the modern jazz era.
